I'm pleased to announce the opening of Empowering Lives through Music in Ventura! ELM is a project dear to my heart using the evidence-based practice of music therapy, combined with my life-long experiences in music. I've long loved this place, from when I would come down from San Francisco during the Ojai Music Festival. I've made many great friends here over the years and am happy to now call Ventura "home." I look forward to working with you on whatever needs you may have. After years of being a working, touring musician I wanted to devote more of my time to using the astonishing, infinite powers of music to help others. I'd been doing this on and off since the 1990s, but wanted to be more deeply involved in this work. So at the ripe old age of 48, I popped back into university life, enrolling in the Music Therapy program at the University of Kentucky. This past June, I received my MT-BC (Music Therapist - Board Certified) credential. So, Voila! Here I am! Currently, I'm working at various arts and senior centers and have a number of other irons in the proverbial fire. Stay tuned for more news and whimsy!
